Upside Down or Petrine Cross

Story

The plot involves Saturnina, a young adult having been imprisoned in an insane asylum since she was 14. Due to her invention having caused so much damage and havoc within the town, her work was spoken with much infamy and disdain, which captures the interest of a certain ex-commander named Samuel, feeling a loss of purpose when discharged. In a sudden interest in domination and power, he goes for the unthinkable: world conquest. But he needed someone to help build him the tools and army and do so… and came across a newspaper clipping from 7 years ago of Saturnina’s arrest. He became curious and began to hunt down information on her and her long history of causing destruction due to her inventions. Learning she is imprisoned for life in a psychiatric ward, he decides to help her out in return for her to work with him in taking revenge. Saturnina is hesitant at first at this offer from a stranger, but the pitch of being able to get revenge on those who hurt her encourages her to join him. They escape Brighton Asylum for the Criminally Insane in a battle of guns and syringe needles, before taking off towards Samuel’s mismatched large towering home, clearly built for far more than living.

While living under the same roof with their own respective environments (Samuel’s very much based on awards and self-portraits, much more refined, while Saturnina’s is a chaotic and messy room full of miscellaneous bits of scrap metal flung about), they team up to make plans for world domination, upon realizing… they hate each other.

Chaos ensues as the other will try to sabotage the other’s plans, their in-fighting being the cause of their own downfall. However when they DO work together, they are quite an impressive and competent duo that works off each other, ala the “cogs” that need the “oil”.

Eventually an old flame of Saturnina’s—and royalty— (Vivica) catches wind of the duo’s shenanigans and decides to take matters into her own hands. Unbeknownst to the two Vivica’s threats have meaning, as she was trained to be an assassin by her father as a young girl after losing her mother. She has vowed to protect her people from harm, whether it’s a former lover or otherwise. Is it the battle between good and evil or much more complicated?
